bored club

Internet, I knew it was going to be bad this summer, but they have created their own ‘bored club’.

My house is the ‘hang out’ house. It was like that when I was a kid and I knew that my house would be that house when my kids got older. My house has become the headquarters for the ‘bored club’ though.

 Bored Clublaugh...

To be a member you must be able to look bored while sitting on the couch, be able to play video games non-stop for 6 solid hours, strategically avoid doing any housework, know the temperature outside and be able to complain about it, use the excuse that any pool they could go to would ‘suck’ anyway because it’s just too hot…oh, and you have to be able to build a fort like this:

The Bored Fort

I walked in to see THIS in my living room. I see the ‘little kids’ hanging outside this contraption and as I am getting ready to ask them (clearing throat) “WHAT THE FUCK?” I hear the 3 fourteen year olds saying, “it would be perfect in here if we just had a fan and a waiter.”

“What are you guys doing in there?” You have to ask this question when there are two 14 year old boys and one 14 year old girl under 7 large blankets.

“We are in our super, super, secret fort.”

That explains it all. I’m not too worried as the living room is like 4 steps away from where I am sitting right now, and besides the conversation going on is hysterical. They have reverted back to being 7 years old.
“Stop hitting me!”
“Your feet stink!”
“OH NO, A PART OF THE FORT IS FALLING…QUICK!”
“I’m the president of this fort.”
“No you’re not. If so I get to be the treasurer slash bouncer”
“We have no money.”
“We need a name for our group.”
“I thought we were the bored club.”
*ROARING LAUGHTER*
“YOUR FIRED!”
“Fine, I quit. I’ll start a new fort!”
“You can’t. We are out of blankets.”

They are SO BORED!

If you’re coming to BlogThis 2005 remember to bring a really big blanket. I have an idea!
