I reallllly do not like  it when people use the, “it was in God’s will” to excuse something horrible happening.

It happened because of many reasons: someone was stupid, someone was smart, someone had it coming to them…ect. There is always an explanation for WHY something happened.  To try to make it BETTER by saying it was in GODS WILL.

Whatever. Please…just write me out of God’s Will and I’m totally okay with that.

I hate it when people attribute things to God too. Srsly.

Another one of my least favorite phrases is “He won’t give you more than you can handle.” I don’t think he measures us for capacity and sends us live events according to our rating.

I hate it when people say that shit too! That’s why we have free will to make our own choices. That whole God “thing” just pisses me off.

I am thinking about you and you can email me and bitch about anyone, anytime you want. It will go no further. xoxo

God, I fucking hate that shit too. People said that to me after I lost my twins. I told them then that God was an asshole and I wanted my sons back.

    Gah.

    So sorry you are hurting.

You OK babe? Some things suck, some don’t, if you’re lucky, the things that don’t outweigh the ones that do.

And athletes who thank God after winning a game. Like God has nothing better to do than watch a football game.

Or the idiots on the news who thank God for the hurricane steering away from their towns and going to another state or country; ever notice they never ask God to show mercy on the people in the new path of the hurricane? We live in a self-cenetered society – a society of entitlement, and that means God has to do what “I” want. ;-)

Kristine. I’m thinking of you. Sending you love on your journey. Like all people I care about, I’m always hoping for fewer struggles and more peace for you. I’m sorry if someone said that to you or someone you love.

This post made me think.I’m an agnostic. So I Don’t Know and I’m ok with that. But regardless of the nature of the universe or the will of God, I think the statement “It is God’s will” perhaps ought not be spoken from one person to another. No good comes from interpreting what God’s will is for another person.

Interpreting God’s will has proven to be so wrong and misleading. Like when people say it is God’s will to make war or kill people, or even that it’s God’s will to judge others.

When someone says it to another person when they’re suffering, grieving, in pain, or struggling… it sounds to me like they’re telling that person to “Shut Up”. But maybe they’re really saying something about themselves like “I can’t deal with this” or “I don’t know what to say.”

We can hope they probably don’t know how the statement “It’s God’s will” can hurt, or create frustration, distance and silence instead of bringing comfort, bringing people closer or bringing peace.

I wish we (people) were all better at treating one another with kindness. I wish we were all better at speaking about ourselves and our own feelings instead of speaking about others. We can save interpretations of Divine Will for our own spiritual conversations and journeys. And instead just walk beside one another.

    Many hugs, sister.
    Xoxo

How about “everything happens for a reason”… Sometimes the reason is SO freaking obvious, and other times it takes us longer to figure it out.

Example… I left my ex because I was misserable and lonely. I found out after I left that he had a serious drug problem. I thought that the reason I was lonely was because he was never around….well he was never around because he left me for the drugs. The reasons were there, they just weren’t obvious at the time.

Hang in there.. There is nothing wrong with leave God out of it.

Horrible thing to say, you ask me. It’s because of this I see God as a sadistic and f’d up being. Who wants to believe in that?

You realize I’m the most popular girl in the bible belt, don’t you? ack

    Hugs!
