Too Soft…
I had a funny thing happen before Christmas break.
A new customer had come in and he said he was referred by someone who knew I worked in auto repair. I asked him who the person was and they couldn’t remember, but said I definitely knew him because he lived in the same neighborhood at some point.
I decide to figure out who this person is and he said, “Well I live on {street}” INSTANTLY knew who he was talking about. We start chatting and he was surprised to hear that I lived where I did and said, “Wait…you’re not the one I met at the 4th of July party. I would remember you.” and after about 30 minutes of talking I found out that my ex took someone to a 4th of July celebration in the neighborhood and introduced his girlfriend to everyone.” I moved out on July 1st.
So the whole time I was in Ireland and he was talking about how I killed him by “cheating on him” (which I did not do) and the month we lived together while I got my apartment where he made me feel like absolute SHIT for what a horrible girlfriend and he already had a new girlfriend waiting.
I swear I give men too much damn credit.
This man and I were actually laughing at the end because I told him some stuff and he was “He told us the exact same thing!” and he said, “You need to talk to my daughter, she thought something was a bit off about him.”
So my advise to you, Gentle Readers is if a man reiterates that he is a “good man” or “not that kind of guy” to the point of nauseum he is DEFINITLY that kind of guy he’s disparaging.
