Kara and I are spending the weekend in San Francisco this weekend for her 16th birthday. We are going to see Wicked and then go to Alcatraz the next day.
There will be no, “My Sweet 16” over the top birthday party for her. This may be the last birthday she will want to spend with me so I am going to milk it for all it’s worth.
In the summer we will plan a trip for her and a few friends to celebrate her birthday…maybe get those little brats out camping would be fun!
Anyway, it’s a 2 hour trip both ways and if I don’t have something for her to do on the itouch she’s likely to make me listen to Taylor Swift the whole way and honestly people, if that happens, I might push her out of the car before we make it to Berkeley.
I’m going to need application suggestions. If you have free ones…that would be great! I was thinking some trivia ones, but was overwhelmed by the amount of them and figured I might want to ask first.

my new favorite is word Fu — may have to pay but not much- it is like boggle but with cool sound effects and fun extras.. we also have one that is like tetris that is called Tris- it was free Also liked bounce and the lite version is free.
Flick bowling is fun- but costs. And I think tap tap revenge is free and that is fun too!
Here’s what my 15 yo plays on my phone:
TapTap Dance, Papi Jump, iCopter, Collapse and (turn off the sound or else you will kill her) BubbleWrap.
I suck. I don’t have a lot of fun stuff on my iPhone.
Here are the few that I have: iHearst Radio, Word Warp, Pac Man Lite, reMovem, and Memoryze. These are all free.
Sorry, I can’t help. I just had to say that I’m fricken jealous. I just might have to FORCE my husband to go to Wicked with me. ;)
Have you got her into Sudoku, or any of the thinking games? At least fill up the iPod section with Taylor and have her take the earbuds, so you can pick the radio station.
Oops, I just noticed a typo. It should be iHeart Radio.
I have been browsing iApps and there are some you might like.
Trivia Challenge Lite is Free.
Who Wants to be a Millionaire Lite is Free.
There are also a number of games for 99¢. Some are general trivia and some are topical.
I bought Text Twist and Word Search Unlimited this morning. I think there is a Word Search Lite (free) available.
Here are some free non-trivia games:
Sudoku (since JoeinVegas recommended it)
Sol Free Solitaire
Hangman
Block Touch Lite
Touch4 (it looks like the physical Connect 4)
Tic Tac Toe Free
If Kara finds any that she really likes, I would love to hear about it.
……………am anxiously awaiting the release of the “Greatest 16th Birthday Story Ever Told”……what a gift. I am so proud of what an amazing mom you are my dear. Very proud.
