Shaun and I shot a birthday party for an 80 year old man this weekend. I hope when I am his age I am surrounded by the wonderfully colorful people he has in his life.
As I was getting ready I decided that I should straighten my hair and that is when I noticed the 2 inches of roots I had totally not even noticed. I tried to remember the last time I had my hair done and it was exactly a week before the wedding…It’s been two months!
When we downloaded the pictures from the shoot, Shaun showed me one he captured of me trying to get a screaming child to be quiet and eat his food by taking his picture and then showing him the picture saying, “Look at you! You’re in my camera!!” I actually like the picture because it shows ME as the person I am…but holy crap, THE ROOTS!
So I rushed out, called my sister and talked her about what color I should get. After about 15 minutes of back and forth of ‘should I get this one or this one?’ I finally picked one knowing that no matter how bad I did, my sister could always fix it.
Yeah, she’ll be fixing it.

I think the new hair looks good. It seems even at least – mine always would out blotchy (because I’m cheap and never would buy the 2 boxes I need). Haven’t dyed my hair in over a year now though – because of the wedding… and now I just haven’t.
Both pictures of you are cute though. Forget about the roots. Your hair grows that much in two months? Mine doesn’t grow half that much!

At first, when I saw the pic of you and the little boy, I thought that this was a pic of you coloring your hair. Oy, you did have some roots. Easy solution, don’t style your hair like that but I know you were ready for a change.

Keep the red. My husbands hair dresser – yes he goes to a salon – said that women are not risky enough with their hair – that we all want to look the same. He said this to me as I am contemplating going short – keep the red it will inspire me to go short. I will make my final decision on 9/16…..

Roots are the reason I don’t change my haircolour. I was on that treadmill and it was such a hassle. Once I let it go, I got to like my mouse brown natural colour. It’s dull, but it’s me. It costs less too.
