$4,938.48

According to my EXIF data on the camera…I have taken 26,000 pictures with my Nikon.

If that was film, I would have spent almost 5 grand developing pictures.

Of course, I might have not taken the 75 pictures just so I could ‘out flash’ my mom and sister.

Okay, so 5 grand minus 75 times 19 cents.

So yeah. FIVE THOUSAND dollars in film processing.

Have you kissed your digital camera lately?

Well Kristine, I’d have to say that camera has paid for itself in spades. Don’t you think?

And the internet as a whole is better for it.

Awesome, isn’t it? Digital is such a beautiful thing.

Don’t forget the cost of actually buying the film before processing it!

I licked it earlier. Does that count?

Since I don’t have a digital camera yet, I will send your digital a cyber kiss.

Seriously, this is the reasoning I use when I explain why I would be will to spend $5,000 on a digital camera. And I didn’t even factor in the cost for film.

Oh MY GOD. I have an SLR and will be getting a digital soon.

But, don’t you print out any of those pictures?

Dammit, stupid html ate my comment.

OK I said I was kissing her right now, and that I love it love it love it.

Then I said except that I tended to put more thought into (and thus learn more from) my pictures when they were expensive. Not that I can’t do that with the D70, but damn… I’m just too lazy.

I have printed out MAYBE 50 bucks worth. Well, no I take that back…probably about 100 bucks worth, I tend to print some for friends and for the kids mom

You’re so right. I’ve taken over 9000 with mine since I bought it last July. You can’t take 45 pictures of the same thing just to “make sure” you get a good one if you’re using film, eh?

ME AND MY BABY WERE JUST REUNITED! I can now play SPFs again! And I so so so love my digicam — I may never pay for developing again!

Oh so true. I’m off to go kiss it now.

I would have an aneurysm if I had to worry about how many pictures I was taking, now that I’m plunked down in the middle of the cat horde and the dog battalion. My head would surely explode.

As it is, the animals are quite annoyed by the camera and probably wish my head WOULD explode.

    I have taken 1,380 since Feb 14th.

And I feed and pet and love my camera every day.

I would just like to say that if you want to get prints done cheap and that actually look good, hit up a COSTCO…I like them because they don’t try to re-balance my color. I work my pictures to the exact color balance I want and the last thing I want is a lab thinking they can help me out. I will even purposely shoot the wrong white balance to the situation just so I can add warmth or cool to the shot. Also…here is a random question…have you messed with orange and green filters on your flash and white balancing to the tungsten or fluorescent? It is amazing if you use the right filter! If you have any questions, you can ALWAYS feel free to e-mail me!

    Oh yeah…you will like this…between April 1 – 4, I shot 4,328 pictures…yep…you read that right!
