I’m Coming Clean…
I get a lot of my Mom’s traits. I mix up words. I am horrible at math. I can pout and sit in my room for days on end. I watch people & don’t trust many of them. I love with every ounce of myself.
and…
I love crime solving.
I am a ‘why’ person. I like to know why people do the things they do. I want answers.
CSI was made for my mother. During the O.J. Simpson case my mother was hot on the trail of what really happened. She watched hours and hours of boring autopsy reports.
The telephone conversations we had consisted of the way the blood was splattered on the sidewalk, the direction of the blood spatters, the location of the glove in conjunction with the house, timelines….to say she was obsessed is being nice. My mom’s world consisted of figuring out how and why. When they gave the verdict of innocent, my mother and I cried together on the phone. I think my mother was more devastated than Marcia Clark. My mom lost the case too.
I finally found a show that Tivo was made for. CSI. I have hours and hours of past CSI Tivoed and I watch them most every night. It might be because I have a little crush on Grissom, but i’m sure it has to do with the fact that I am like my mother. Something happened and I want to know what.
Christie Wilson is missing. I want to know why. I want to know what happened. I want someone to send me the list of evidence so we can put together a solid case.
No, I’m not a detective. I’m not a lawyer. I just want the truth and in order to have the truth, we have to have all the evidence.
My friend and I have been doing research around the areas that they are finding things. We have a few hours during the day to sit down and go over the information we have and just drive around and see if we can see anything. So far we have realized that detective work sucks. We don’t mind the researching part, but when you actually get into the car to go look…you realize how big the area is. And how small we are.
A really good map would come in handy when we are out driving around, looking for possible routes. Mapquest, Google and Yahoo maps suck. We got lost on a dirt road this week. It was creepy and after laughing about, ‘being out in the middle of nowhere with no cell coverage.’ we realized how stupid we are.
“Cagney, my battery on my cell phone only has one bar left.” My friend tells me.
“I think I have two bars left. I don’t think there is any coverage out here though.”
“How much gas do you have?”
“Little bit under a quarter tank.”
“How stupid are we? No cellular coverage, no gas…” She asks.
“And no one knows where we are.”
We turned around, but not before we saw latex gloves on the side of the road.
Don’t touch anything. You never touch anything. I didn’t even get out because shoe prints and tire tracks are important to CSI. I just took pictures from the driver’s seat.
When I got home I sent the pictures and directions to Christie’s aunt & the head of the search party team. They then emailed me back and said to send it to the detective handling the case.
I don’t know if it’s anything, it probably isn’t. If it is, FANTASTIC for Christie Wilson’s family. If not, I got to spend a few hours with my friend. I also realized that CSI is fun to watch on TV, but when you’re really out there, it’s sort of scary.
Now, if you’ll excuse me…I need to go buy a map.
