i know…weird.
I had some WEIRD, WEIRD, WEIRD dreams last night. I had a dream that Tyler and I were talking during dinner and he said, “I love her, I am going to be with her forever. I am going to marry her. I know you don’t believe me…because i’m so young, but I will.”
Last night the family took my ex-husband to dinner for his birthday. Tyler invited his girlfriend, Nikki to come along and because Nikki has parents that are responsible, she had to call her parents to let them know that we would be leaving.
“We are going to take Kristine’s, ex-husband to dinner for his birthday…..yes, Shaun will be there too…”
Some would ask, “Why?…Why would you pay to take him out to dinner? Why would you need to go? Why not just send the girls with some money? Why not just get him a gift from the girls?”
And my answer is, “Duh, they serve booze at the restaurant!”
No, seriously…As big as a dumb-ass he is, I can’t stay mad at him for anything more than 2 days. He really loves his children to death. If I know him, I think he really loves Shaun’s kids too. He likes to be surrounded by noise and our house is the epicenter of all sound generated in the state of California.
So we all went.
I’m not just setting a example for my kids, i’m setting an example for what he needs to look for if he decides to take a shower, clean his apartment and get a girlfriend.
She needs to realize that we are still close. We still do stuff like this. We get mad at each other and then we get over it. We crack jokes and call each other names…but under it all we are a family…all of us.
I met Dan when I was 18 years old and I married him.
Maybe the Tyler in my dream wasn’t too far off.
