thinking venti

I called my ex-husband and told him the news. He was…happy. I think. I don’t know. Shaun told his ex and she was happy for us too.
We haven’t told his parents yet. Shaun’s sister got engaged this weekend too and we didn’t want to spoil her ‘moment in the spotlight’.
I’m FREAKING OUT to tell his grandmas. I want to be there though. I want those hugs they are going to shell out.

Even though this is one of the happiest times of my whole life, I am feeling a bit bitter in some places.
During the ‘spreading of my grandma’s ashes’ I had a fall out with my dad. He said some things to me that I only read in my hate mail folder. Because i’m a Seguin, I am stubborn and I won’t call him so he can apologize, even though he told my mom he felt bad.
I called and left a message on his machine saying, “I didn’t want you to hear it from anyone else…Shaun proposed this weekend…I’m getting married. Bye.”

Shaun and I are waiting for his son, Dennis to come home from Afghanistan and for his dad to fully recover from his heart attack before we even start planning this thing. I wouldn’t even begin to know how to plan it. I did a fine job of it when I was younger and thought that my whole happiness hinged on if I had the perfect dress, flowers and EVERYONE I ever knew was there. This time around I am so much smarter. If I could have the wedding budgeted under 15 bucks I would happy. Maybe I can use that left over beer in my fridge for the reception?

I got home from the store today and removed my soap from the box and Shea grabbed it from out of the trash.
“We are going to need this.”
Shea has been on this Pokemon card collecting spree and I figured it was to store some of her cards in there.
She turned to Alyx and said, “We will use this to practice being flower girls.”

Shaun’s son, Dennis IMed me tonight and told me he saw the picture of the ring. He asked, “What Cracker Jack Box did he find that thing in?”
It’s a antique 1940’s engagement and wedding ring…a ring with some history. Dennis laughed and said, “If I wasn’t in the army and a war hero…I would say it was ‘pretty'”
I think all that camouflage is going to his head.

I will update the SPF for this week later on today.

Thank you so much on all the kinds words!
