This weekend was my first ‘girls’ trip with my two girlfriends. About 4 years ago we all went to Reno together, but since I don’t remember anything except getting there and leaving there…it doesn’t count.
Even though this wasn’t a planned trip, we managed to have a lot of fun in a short amount of time.
The best part of the trip for me was sitting around the table and playing a very loud game of Pictionary. My friend Cita and Martz are artists. Dude, Am and I are not so good. We figured if we put Cita and Martz together they would seriously kick our asses, but since we all were too lazy to change chairs we just figured 3 non-artists against 2-very good artists seemed like a fair game.
I don’t think I stopped laughing the whole game. I don’t think I have laughed that hard for that long since the 2002 game of Cranium. This was the game where I had to hum ‘It’s a Small World” and my partner, The Fonz -for 2 minutes yelled out every song and every descriptive except the name of the song I was humming. “it’s a really tiny place.” (I don’t partner with my mother anymore.)
Dude, Am and I were kicking butt the first part of the game and then somewhere in the middle we fell apart. It’s hard to draw and be serious when Dude keeps yelling, “It’s an AMOEBA!” I would just fall into peals of laughter which made them laugh harder.
Then we got the word “PASTE”. How hard could that be? I drew a picture of a “CTRL” button and the letter “V”. Dude is smart and figured it out, but we were chastised for using letters.
I had more fun hanging out then ‘going’ out. I had a great time. I adore Martz and Dude. I am requesting “TEXAS” vibes for them. It would be so cool to have them back in the states.
Martz had to get rid of some…if not all…of the furniture in her house so I ended up with THEE COOLEST desk, coffee & end tables. I was so excited! I went around and licked all the stuff I was going to take with me. I got it home and couldn’t wait to get it out of the van. (props to Morrison the Van for hauling all my new stuff…I love you!)
After it was all in, I looked around the living room and outside of the glaring color contrasts of the browns and my tacky blue couches…it just didn’t work right. SO WE PAINTED THE WALL IN MY HOUSE? Did you hear that? WE PAINTED. THE WALL. THE WALL IS NOW PAINTED. (props to Shaun and Tyler for the hard work getting it done for me)
I LOVE IT. I love my furniture. I keep leaning over and kissing it.
Thank you for a totally awesome weekend with my friends. I had the greatest time.
Now it’s back to beating children.
