I’m home from ‘home’.

It was so relaxing and nice just hanging out with my mom and sister. We didn’t drink so I can’t give you any cool drunken videos. Mom did manage to get a picture of me sacked out in bed though.

So how about that picture? That’s Shingletown I grew up in this wonderland of trees and mountains.

I had so many of those ‘whoa’ moments while I was there and I was reminded of the little girl I use to be so many times from friends of the family.
I was told the story of how Kathy would clean me up and I would come back in the house an hour later and be dirty than I was before they cleaned me up.

I wish we had a way to upload scents. The smell of warm pine needles calms the soul.

This is the house I grew up in. Everyone in Shingletown knows it as ‘the ol’ red house’ or ‘the Seguin’s old house’. We lived in this house forever. It didn’t look like this when we were there because we didn’t have a ride on mower to clear the weeds and maintain the meadow. We had 3 boys who had friends that would keep the grass patted down from playing football everyday.
There were trails blazed from our friends house, to the creek or to the barn that stood behind the house.

Being there sparked so many memories from being a little girl. I actually made a phone call I have been thinking about making for a really long time. I called my best friend growing up. We talked for an hour and brought up names that I hadn’t thought of in about 20 years. Her voice sounds just like it did when we were 10.
I was THRILLED beyond belief to find out she has email and internet! I gave her my email address and my blog address.
*waving* Hi Teresa!

I want to post all my pictures and share my whole wonderful weekend with you, but somewhere between Redding and Sacramento my back went out and I’m on meds again!

The bathroom is as lovely and relaxing as the pictures. He’s awesome huh? Oh and Pissy, you better be careful offering me a plane ticket…I WILL COME!

Just so you all know…you all were in our conversations this weekend. It’s strange how many conversations were sparked by what someone had written or ‘did you read so-in-so’s’ blog?. I was surprised how many new comment people I got over Shaun’s extreme bathroom makeover and I went to visit your sites.
“OH look mom! A NEW BLOGGER!!” I would squeal and we would go read the site and ohhh and aww over baby pictures or cute dogs. (mom’s a sucker for a cute dog)

I will update the SPF list (left hand side of blog) when the medicine wears off or you ‘ll get stupid things like, “picture of your favorite pain killer, your heating pad, something you saw when you were trippin on vicoden”
