Shaun and I were in the van today going to the flea market. (shut up, it’s not as bad as it sounds) I put on a CD I made and labeled it, “Random and Odd really crappy ass music”
\nI figure if I label them with things like, “Lame music you won’t like” or “Yuk Barf” the girls won’t steal them out of my car anymore.<\/p>\n
“Fire Lake” by Bob Segar came on and I was singing along…having a great ol’ time enjoying my newly made CD when I noticed that Shaun looked like he was going to blow chunks in the driver’s seat.
\n“S’matter?” I ask.
\n“Nothin.” He says in his neither here nor there tone.
\nI know something is wrong, but i’m going to play the guy card on this one and not worry about it for 3 days.
\n“Who sings this?” I ask him, just to see if he knows. I am mean like that. I play the ‘who sings this’ or ‘what movie is this from’ with the girls all the time. I just know he’s going to look at me and say, “Don’t be an idiot Kristine. It’s Bob Segar.”<\/p>\n
and then he says something that makes me want to rethink our whole relationship.<\/p>\n

Bob Segar. Fire Lake. Crap. ??? Did I just hear this right? Did he just say Bob Fucking Segar is crap? He did. I couldn’t talk to him for the rest of the ride.<\/p>\n
After a couple hours of shopping we come home and I decide there is no way we can co-exist in a car if I have to listen to nothing other than Matchbox 20\/Rob Thomas or Sports Talk Radio every time we leave the house as a family.
\nIt’s time to find something we both like. 80’s music. I like Rock…he likes ‘crap’ so we would have to find a happy medium or kill each other.<\/p>\n
I start downloading what I like, because I heard on a movie last night that ‘the woman is always right’ and I believe everything I see on TV. I’m right, so I am picking out the music.
\nHe comes in and suggests for this way cool 80’s rock CD i’m making – ZZ Top.
\nI pick Tush, he picks Legs.
\n“CLEARLY Tush is the right song.”
\n“No, Legs. If you’re going to put a ZZ song on there, you have to go with Legs.” He insists.
\n“It’s too overplayed. Ick.” I defend.
\n“Whatever.”<\/p>\n
Internet, we are going to break up over music. I can just see this happening. He already broke up with me over movies.<\/p>\n
Here’s the direction we went…(He kind of was leaning way to the right side of the 80’s and I was SO far on the left towards the 70’s)<\/p>\n
