{"id":497,"date":"2005-07-21T10:51:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-21T17:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/randomandodd.com\/?p=497"},"modified":"2006-04-04T10:59:16","modified_gmt":"2006-04-04T17:59:16","slug":"i-dont-eat-fish-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/randomandodd.com\/?p=497","title":{"rendered":"I don&#8217;t eat fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/obnoxiousaries\/27448885\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"362\" alt=\"this is randy. he's camera shy.\" src=\"http:\/\/photos21.flickr.com\/27448885_e4a1da64c1.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All of you have already read Harry Potter so I can only &#8216;scan&#8217; your blogs or you&#8217;re going to tip me off and I will be so pissed&#8230;like when Cat let the cat out of the bag that Carrie won American Idol.<br \/>\nSo I am just &#8216;scanning&#8217; and if I see the word &#8220;Harry&#8221; I just click away from you.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not ready to read it. I know myself too well. I read the first one in like 7 hours and I was only reading the first couple pages to see if Kara would like it. I then read the other books in less than 48 hours each. I told myself when I was reading the last brick of a book that I better just take it slow because I didn&#8217;t know when I would get my next fix. I read it 32 hours.<br \/>\nSo my next fix is sitting in Wal*Mart at the front door wearing that pretty blue cover and frilly font on the cover just tempting me.<\/p>\n<p>After cleaning the closet yesterday I crawled back into bed in tears. Kara handed me a book and said I should lay there and read and not strain my back anymore. She might be a doctor when she grows up. i hope.<br \/>\n&#8220;You haven&#8217;t read a book in a long time.&#8221; She reminds me.<\/p>\n<p>Confessions of Shopaholic. How did I get this book? Oh yeah, my beautiful friend, Lisa gave it to me. I&#8217;m totally NOT a shopaholic and couldn&#8217;t tell Jacklyn Smith suit from DKNY suit.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m just going to read long enough to get my mind off the backpain and then I will get up and start the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>About 3 chapters in I realize I am screwed. Let me explain. You know the movie, &#8220;Meet the Parents&#8221;? That movie caused me physical pain to watch. I CAN NOT stand to watch someone go through so much bad stuff. I wanted to jump into the screen and save him from himself or at least punch the dad for being an ass. I know. I KNOW there will be happy ending, but serious anxiety is had by watching that movie. I loved the movie the second time I saw it because I know he&#8217;s going to be alright and it works out in the end, but the first time I watched it I felt woozy afterward.<br \/>\nThis book is much like that. I found myself HATING this girl for being a shopaholic. I wanted her to go back to her flat and just read or something. I kept reading because now I HAVE to make sure she&#8217;s okay.<\/p>\n<p>I finished the book at 2am&#8230;and I was smiling like a loon. It worked out. I knew it would. I&#8217;m not a big fan of the &#8216;happy ending&#8217; either, but this was good. It wasn&#8217;t a &#8216;happy ending&#8217; &#8211; it was a realistic ending and I love that.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, if the stars (and my back) are aligned perfectly I will go out and buy Harry Potter&#8217;s book and like all you that have abandoned your blog for that damn book, I will do the same.<\/p>\n<p>Oh and Tomorrow is Friday and that means STUFF PORTRAIT FRIDAY and this week theme is &#8216;What&#8217;s for dinner?&#8221; (check the left hand side of my blog for the items)<br \/>\nDo you know what this means???
