On Sunday we met up with Ashley and all her close friends. \u00a0This was going to be a big night for her as she was going to ask her girlfriend of about 3 years to marry her.<\/p>\n

I held on to this secret for months, even from her dad. \u00a0She came to me to make sure that I would be here for this package that was coming in the mail.
\n“You’ll be here right? You’ll sign for it right?” \u00a0I assured her that I would. \u00a0When Ashley is excited about something she can not hide it. \u00a0She had the biggest smile on her face and was busting at the seams. \u00a0“Spill it, buttercup!” \u00a0 She told me what the ring looked like and I asked her to tell me again what it was. \u00a0“A promise ring.” \u00a0I rolled my eyes at her. “That’s an engagement ring, doofus.” \u00a0She kicked around the word and her smile got even bigger. \u00a0“Yeah, well. We’ll see.”<\/p>\n

The ring came and it didn’t come in a box like I thought it would. She texted me a few times and I told her, no it wasn’t there. \u00a0Then we figured it would be best if I opened the envelope to see if that was it. \u00a0It was. \u00a0No box. \u00a0I told her that I would go into the\u00a0jewelry\u00a0store and get her one. \u00a0You would think I was asking the ring store for the crown jewels or something!
\nShe called me to make sure that we would be there on Sunday. \u00a0I told her maybe. \u00a0“WHAT?” \u00a0She explained that she was going to ask Taryn and then I assured her that I would be there and I would tell her dad what the fuss was all about and why he should be there too. \u00a0He, of course agreed we would be there. \u00a0He wasn’t going to miss a big day in his Scooter’s life.<\/p>\n

That morning we all met to get family pictures done. \u00a0I made sure to take some of just Ashley and Taryn.
\nI took Ashley aside and asked her if she was going to do the whole shmeal. The whole down on one knee thing. \u00a0She said she didn’t know what she would do. I joked, “You better drop to both knees and beg that woman!” \u00a0She laughed and we made some jokes.<\/p>\n

The time came, Ashley dropped to both knees! \u00a0I tried so hard not to cry as I saw Taryn burst into tears! \u00a0Ashley was all smiles. \u00a0Her daddy was all smiles and she was surrounded by all her friends and family. \u00a0It was such an amazing day from start to finish.
\nTaryn walked around the hockey rink showing off her ring and smiling so much I thought she would hurt herself.
\nI asked her, “Betcha didn’t know you were getting your engagement pictures done this morning!”<\/p>\n
